Welcome to the American Nicaraguan School curriculum map site. We hope the curriculum maps on this site will
help parents to understand the learning their children experience as
they progress through the educational program at the American
Nicaraguan School. Because curriculum development is an ongoing
process, the curriculum maps on this site will be revised
periodically based on updates in educational research, new
discoveries in the different subject areas, and changes in local
needs. Therefore, please see these curriculum maps as living,
evolving documents.
As the school year progresses, teachers will differentiate and
adjust the curriculum for the benefit of their students. For
example, the time span allotted for a specific unit may be a little
longer or shorter than the one listed on a map, based on what is
necessary to meet student needs at the time.
Curriculum maps are the foundation for teacher daily planning.
For more detail on day-to-day functioning of the classroom, we
encourage parents to review their children's homework and class
assignments as well to participate in regular parent-teacher
conferences.
We wish to take this opportunity to thank our parent community
for its support and for assisting us in our mission to provide ANS
students the tools they need to become critical thinkers and to make
meaningful contributions to society.
Sincerely,
ANS Administration, Faculty, and Staff
